Not working with Win2008r2? Yes it does work

Dec 11, 2013 at 9:38 AM
Is this project still alive? Has anyone gotten it working with Win2008R2? The installer crashes, and rebuilding the COM object and registering by hand produces this error on first use:

Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0194'
http://support.microsoft.com/KB/259516

which says that a method call, OnPageEnd, was obsolete in IIS5.0.

Hello,

Sorry for this late answer I will be more reactive in the future.
I am sorry to hear that you have difficulties with the session service.

The code is currently running on production at www.homelidays.com (high traffic web site) which runs Win2008R2 x64.

About http://support.microsoft.com/KB/259516, I was not aware of this obsolescence but I can guaranty you that this is still supported on Win2008R2 x64.

To help you with the installer:
  1. Could you make sure to unzip the archive before launching the installer
  2. Which version of the session service are you using and for which platform (x86 or x64).
  3. When the installer crashes what error message do you have?
To help you with the OnPageEnd failure:
  1. Usually when OnPageEnd fails it means that the connection strings are not set properly, could you double check the connection string in AspSessionServiceConfig.xml and AspSessionServiceConfigAdo.Net.xml file in the installation folder ?
  2. Some log files should have been created in the installation folder after every OnPageEnd failure, could you send it to me to help you to find out what the issue is ?
I would be glad to support you
Yanal
